Hollywood
Celebrity Kids Participate In San Diego Event
"Local
Company Launches Multimedia Educational Fundraising Product"
Vista
CA - (November 15, 2002)
Here's
the challenge: To hold a gaming tournament with Hollywood
celebrities along side approximately 65 local area children
of different ages to see who can win the grand prize. Impossible?
Not if the game is Verbosity
- Tools for the Mind! The tournament will be held
at Nordstrom
Business Institute Saturday, November 23, 2002
from 9 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Located at 500 West Vista Way, Vista,
CA
In
cooperation with 4 SHO Entertainment Enterprises and Lasershield
Systems Inc., Difference
Makers International (a non-profit North County Foundation)
will be hosting this premiere multimedia educational tournament
event as part of its "National Acknowledgement Week".
Dignitaries
from the educational, political and entertainment industries
(i.e. Several CEO's of local non-profits, educators, Bishop
George McKinney, Capt. Walter "Wally" Schirra (one
of the original 7 astronauts selected by NASA for the Mercury
Program), ABC Kids Jackie Jensen, Pearl Harbor
stars, Daniel Lewow, Blake Lewow, Cameron Stroud, Chance Stroud,
and Timeri Wood from Discovery Kids, as well as Krysten
Leigh Jones who starred in Remember the Titans) will
be present to see this game in its element by observing dozens
of children of various ages competitively playing against
each other. All at the same time!
The
tournament features the
Verbosity - Tools for the Mind!, a hugely popular
game in the San Diego County Boys
and Girls Clubs. There is no entry fee for the competitors
who will represent various North County area Boys
and Girls Clubs. The positive energy produced when a large
group of children are playing Verbosity against each other
is clear. The tangible monitoring of the groups educational
comprehension is an added bonus.
"It's
important to know that there are games available that really
help children learn while they're having fun," says Rudy
Mathieu, Chief Technology Officer of 4SHO Entertainment Enterprises.
Mr. Mathieu also stated, "Multimedia games have become
a way of life for many families. Most of the current products
on the market encourage individual play/isolation with the
child. Within this element, the game is typically riddled
with violence and has no redeemable educational/social value."
"Verbosity
- Tools for the Mind!, was designed with families
and groups of children in mind. It can be played alone, but
it is so much more fun when four or more people play together,"
said Lou Ward, Executive Vice President of 4 SHO Entertainment.
Mr. Ward further stated, "For the first time a gaming
product brings people together in a stimulating and entertaining
way, while the mind is subliminally learning to master an
age appropriate vocabulary to advance through the game. Our
premiere product is vocabulary and literacy based. Future
products currently under development will cover subjects from
A-Z. Such as math, science, space, geography and more
."
Group
play is controlled from one central computer. The Verbosity
Tournament Series is the only event of its kind anywhere!
San Diego is on the forefront of wired cities in the country,
especially in the area of youth-organizations and recognized
as a leader in demanding quality education and educational
aids for its schools. San Diego is positioned to utilize this
product line as the premiere fundraising tool. Selling a product
that has long-term value and generates a higher profit to
the organization by cutting out the middleman.
